Direct debit is temporarily turned off

No new direct debits are being carried out at the moment. Read why in Can I collect rent automatically by direct debit?.

Getting an outstanding sales invoice paid

  1. Ask the tenant to pay the sales invoice by bank transfer to the account number on the sales invoice, or via the payment link.
  2. OWNER Pay matches the payment to the sales invoice automatically.
  3. Did the tenant pay outside OWNER? Then mark the sales invoice as paid yourself. See How do I manually mark a sales invoice as paid?.

Why is a direct debit declined?

Usually the tenant's bank has blocked direct debits on the account, either by the bank itself or through a setting made by the tenant. This doesn't block your own account. The tenant can ask their bank why the block is in place.
