Can I collect rent automatically by direct debit?

Direct debit via OWNER Pay is temporarily turned off. These are the alternatives.

Direct debit via OWNER Pay is temporarily turned off. Here you'll read why, and how to have tenants pay now.

OWNER Pay is being replaced by OWNER Wallet (expected end of 2026). You keep the same account; your account just needs to be verified again.

Why is direct debit turned off?

With direct debit, Stripe chose the collection day itself. As a result, it couldn't be determined exactly on which day the rent was debited: sometimes too early, sometimes too late. We don't think that's good enough.

Direct debit will only be turned back on when the collection day can be determined exactly. There's no date for that yet.

How do you have tenants pay now?

  • Bank Transfer to the unique account number on the sales invoice. OWNER Pay matches the payment automatically. The tenant can set up a recurring transfer with their bank.
  • Payment link with, for example, iDEAL, credit card or Bancontact. See What is OWNER Pay?.
  • Reminders: turn on automatic reminders under Settings > Modules > Financial > Sales invoices, so tenants automatically get a nudge when they're late.
