How do OWNER Pay transaction fees work?
Who pays the OWNER Pay transaction fees and how they're settled.
You pay transaction fees for payments via OWNER Pay. In this article, you'll read who pays them and how they're settled.
OWNER Pay is being replaced by OWNER Wallet (expected end of 2026). You keep the same account; your account just needs to be verified again.
Who pays the transaction fees?
- The transaction fees are always paid by the owner or property manager, never by the tenant. The tenant only pays the amount of the sales invoice.
- The fees apply to the entire environment.
- If a property manager has indicated they'll pay the fees of a linked property environment, the property manager pays them. Otherwise the owner pays them from their own environment.
How are they settled?
- At the end of the month, OWNER counts all payments received via OWNER Pay, such as iDEAL payments.
- The transaction fees appear on your subscription invoice.
- The amount is charged automatically via your subscription's payment method.
You can find your subscription invoices under Settings > Environment settings > Subscription, on the Invoices tab. Read more about the subscription in Subscription and credits.
Frequently asked questions
Do the fees differ per payment method?
Yes, the transaction fees depend on the payment method. As the sender, you decide which payment methods a debtor can use. See What is OWNER Pay?.
Can I pass the transaction fees on to the tenant?
No. In OWNER, the tenant never pays transaction fees; they're always for the owner or property manager.
Do I pay transaction fees with an accounting integration?
With an accounting integration, tenants pay into your own bank account, outside OWNER Pay. OWNER doesn't charge OWNER Pay transaction fees for that. Read OWNER Wallet or accounting integration.
