Can I add a reference number or VAT number to the sales invoice?

The tenant's reference on the rental contract, the landlord's VAT number on the owner.

Yes, you can. You enter a tenant's reference on the rental contract. You enter the landlord's VAT number on the owner.

The tenant's reference

  1. Go to Contracts > Rental contracts and open the rental contract.
  2. Click the pencil to edit the rental contract.
  3. Enter the reference under Invoice reference and save.

The reference appears on all new sales invoices of this rental contract. Sales invoices that have already been sent don't change.

The landlord's VAT number

Go to Settings > Environment settings > Owners and open the owner. On the General tab, enter the VAT no. It then automatically appears on all sales invoices of that owner; you don't have to enter it per rental contract.

Tip: use the invoice reference for details that differ per tenant, such as a purchase order number. Details that apply to all of the landlord's sales invoices go on the owner.
