# Service contracts
## Record agreements with suppliers and other parties and keep track of them in the calendar.
A service contract records agreements with suppliers and other third parties, such as elevator maintenance, cleaning or a loan agreement with a bank. That way you can see in the calendar when contracts start and expire.

## What is a service contract?
A service contract basically works the same as a rental contract, but with a supplier or other party instead of a tenant. Think of a service provider for maintenance or cleaning, an energy supplier or a bank.
You link a service contract to the units or installations it concerns. You link [purchase items](https://knowledge.owner.app/en/purchase-items?hsLang=en) to a service contract: the cost items you agreed on with the supplier.

## Creating a service contract
### Step 1 – Open service contracts
1. Go to **Contracts \> Service contracts** and click **New**.
### Step 2 – Fill in the contract
1. Choose the party you have the contract with and the units or installations it concerns.
2. Fill in the start and end date, so the key moments appear in the calendar.
3. Add the purchase items and save the service contract.
You can find service contracts under Contracts \> Service contracts.
**Tip:** Save the signed contract with the service contract itself. That way you can always find it where it belongs.
You manage the types of service contracts under **Settings \> Modules \> Contracts \> Service contracts**.
## Coming soon: matching purchase invoices
Purchase invoices are expected to be available from January 1, 2027. You'll then be able to match purchase invoices with your service contracts, so you can check whether a supplier invoices according to the agreements.
