# Owners: adding and managing
## Creating an owner, multiple owners in one environment and giving an owner view access.
An owner is the person or company on whose behalf you send sales invoices, usually the landlord. For each owner, you set up the details, the logo, the bank account or OWNER Pay and the invoice numbering. An owner is something different from a team member: a team member is someone who works in your environment.

## Adding an owner
### Step 1 – Create the owner
1. Go to **Settings \> Environment settings \> Owners**.
2. Create a new owner.
3. Fill in the details and add the logo.
### Step 2 – Set up the payment details

### Step 3 – Set up invoice numbering

## Frequently asked questions
#### Can I have multiple owners in one environment?
Yes. Create each owner (person or company) separately. That way the sales invoices, VAT, bank account and payment overviews are correct per owner.
#### A property is jointly owned by several private individuals. How do I enter that?
Create a separate owner for each person. Don't combine multiple people in one owner profile, because that causes problems later with sales invoices, VAT and payment overviews.
#### I work as a property manager and don't see Owners.
You add owners in your client's real estate environment, not in your manager environment. First switch to the real estate environment. Read [How do I switch between environments?](https://knowledge.owner.app/en/switch-between-environments?hsLang=en).
#### Can an owner view their environment?
Yes, you can give an owner access. Under **Settings \> Environment settings \> Permissions**, create a role with only the permissions the owner needs. Then add the owner as a team member and give them that role. Don't see the new role in the drop-down list yet? Then refresh the page.
