# File management
## Store documents and images with the item they belong to.
In OWNER, you store all your files digitally, so you can find them quickly and have them at hand on the go. Files consist of documents and images.

## Documents and images

A photo of an agreement is best saved as a PDF in documents.
## Store each file with the right item
Link a file to the item it relates to. A signed rental contract and addenda belong with the rental contract, a floor plan with the unit, an inspection report with the inspection, and a contract with a supplier with the service contract. That keeps everything organized, even if a tenant rents multiple units.
**Tip:** First open the item, for example the rental contract, and upload the file from there. It's then linked right away.
## Finding files
- Give files a type and a date, so you can filter on them later.
- On a file's detail page, you see the details on the left, the connections on the right, and a preview, tasks and notes in the middle.
