# As a property manager, how do I create and connect an environment for a client?
## Create a real estate environment for your client and connect it to your manager environment.
As a property manager, you work with one manager environment and a real estate environment for each client. Here's how to set up a new client environment and connect it to your manager environment.

## Creating and connecting a client environment
### Step 1 – Create a manager environment (one time only)
Don't have a manager environment yet? Create one first at [owner.app/environment/setup](https://owner.app/environment/setup?hsLang=en). You only do this once.
### Step 2 – Create a real estate environment for your client
Use the same link to create a new real estate environment for your client. One real estate environment can hold property from multiple owners (companies) of that client.
### Step 3 – Connect it to your manager environment
1. Open your manager environment and go to **Settings**. In the overview of connected environments, you can see the environments that are connected to you.
2. Is the new environment not shown as connected yet? Select the environment and click the link icon.
### Step 4 – Enter the property
In the new real estate environment, add the owners, units and rental contracts. Follow [Getting started with OWNER](https://knowledge.owner.app/en/getting-started?hsLang=en) while you do this.
**Tip:** always check at the top left which environment you're in before you enter data. Read [How do I switch between environments?](https://knowledge.owner.app/en/switch-between-environments?hsLang=en).
## Frequently asked questions
#### Can I move units or contracts to another environment?
That is not a standard feature. With a limited number of units, it's best to enter them again. If it involves many units and nothing has been invoiced on them yet, support can do this for you once, by arrangement.
#### I accidentally created two environments for the same client.
Check which environment has been activated and which one already contains the owner. You can find the environment number in the environment's settings. Let support know which environment can go, and it will be deleted.
#### Who pays for the client environment's credits?
