# What is the difference between Domain and Website for a company?

## With the domain, OWNER fills in details and links persons; the website is just the web address.

The domain is the company's domain name, for example company.com. The website is the web address you want to show. The two can differ.

## Domain

With the domain, OWNER does a lot of work for you:

- OWNER fills in the logo and company details via the [OWNER community](https://community.owner.app).
- If the company is a service provider, you see the reviews from the community.
- Persons with an email address on the same domain can be linked to the company automatically.

You turn on automatic linking under **Settings \> Modules \> Contacts \> Persons** with the option **Automatically link persons to companies**.

Turn on this option to link persons to companies based on their email address.

**Tip:** That's why it's best to start a new company with the domain name.

## Website

The website is a separate field, because the web address isn't always the same as the domain. Think of www.company.com/en/.
